Mission of Kesher Naaleh

NA’ALEH is a program for the growth oriented young women of the Sephardic community. It is a place for them to learn in a warm and structured way while still being a part of the college or business world. They will learn the Torah topics most relevant to their lives and have the tools to become the women they aspire to be. NA’ALEH is a twice a week program with 4 classes each day.

There will be guest speakers, trips, and programs throughout the semester. Each class will be taught by experienced teachers from the community who understand and are respectful of the mentality, ways, and traditions of our community. They are capable of encouraging growth in the young women of our community in the most wonderful way.

Programs at NA'ALEH

At NA’ALEH, we offer a variety of transformative programs designed to empower young women, foster personal growth, and deepen connections to Jewish learning and community. Each program is thoughtfully designed to inspire and equip you for success, both spiritually and in everyday life.

Leadership Development

Our Leadership Development program is designed to nurture the next generation of strong, confident women. Through mentorship, hands-on projects, and leadership workshops, participants will gain the skills and confidence to lead within their communities and beyond. This program is perfect for young women looking to develop their leadership potential and make a lasting impact.

Torah Learning & Study

At Kesher Naaleh, we provide an engaging and accessible approach to Torah learning that inspires personal connection and growth. Whether you are exploring the foundational texts of Judaism or deepening your understanding of halachah, our Torah Learning programs offer a wide range of classes and study groups designed for all levels. This is an opportunity to connect with tradition, find your voice in learning, and grow spiritually.

Personal Development & Mentorship

Our Personal Development program focuses on helping young women build self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and resilience. Paired with individual mentorship, participants will work closely with experienced mentors to explore topics such as goal-setting, time management, mindfulness, and building healthy relationships. The aim is to empower each participant to develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive in every aspect of life.

Creative Arts & Expression

We believe in the power of creativity to express our inner selves and connect with others. Our Creative Arts programs offer opportunities for young women to explore their passions through visual arts, music, drama, and more. These programs provide a platform to develop artistic skills while also fostering a sense of community and shared expression.

Jewish Women’s Empowerment

Our Jewish Women’s Empowerment program focuses on inspiring young women to connect to their Jewish heritage, explore its relevance in today’s world, and engage in meaningful dialogue about their roles in the Jewish community. Through workshops, discussions, and guest speakers, this program empowers women to embrace their Jewish identity with confidence and pride.

Community & Social Impact

The Community & Social Impact program provides hands-on opportunities for participants to give back and make a positive difference in the world. From volunteer work to social activism, this program encourages young women to develop a sense of responsibility and compassion for others. Through these experiences, participants will learn how to be changemakers within their communities.

Our Growth

Over the past three years, our program has experienced remarkable growth, a testament to its impact and success. In 2023, we began with 23 girls in Shana A. By 2023-2024, we expanded to include a Shana B group, doubling our reach to 48 participants. This year, 2024-2025, we are proud to serve over 70 girls across both groups. Our participants now come from a diverse range of schools, including Yeshivah of Flatbush, Magen David, Ilan, YDE, North Shore, and Bnot Rachel. This steady increase reflects our program’s strength, relevance, and the trust families place in us. We look forward to continuing this growth as we inspire and empower even more young women.

A message from Mrs. Sarah Shalom
Principal of Na’aleh

At Na’aleh, every day is an opportunity for spiritual growth, paired with exciting activities, enriching trips, and inspiring guest speakers. Our outings are thoughtfully designed to be both meaningful and educational. For example, we visited the Mikveh Kelim to gain hands-on knowledge of its process, and we dissected a garment to understand the intricacies of the shatnez laws. Beyond these enriching experiences, we also incorporate creative activities that allow the girls to showcase their talents—whether painting candles in honor of Rachel Imeinu’s yahrzeit or competing in a Chanukah-themed cake wars. At Na’aleh, we strive to keep learning dynamic, meaningful, and fun, creating a lasting impact on every student.
